The collection of Fotopedia apps is one of the best in the App Store, and the developers, Fotonauts, seem to be coming out with new ones regularly. Fotopedia Japan was just launched, and with it is a photographic journey of the land of the rising sun. The app includes over 1,000 photos showing a combination of the past and future mixed throughout the country. There are sections for Shinto Shrines, Temples, Cosplay, Towers, and Geisha, among others.
Each photo is absolutely beautiful to see on the iPad or retina display, and you’ll enjoy each and every shot. There are plenty of options to sort by similar photos, and you can save your favorites for later in the “My Trip” section. The app lets you see the photos on a map, and there are options for slideshows. It’s effortless to navigate all of the photos, and you’ll be amazed at how many various picturesque areas and objects there are in Japan.
Fotopedia Japan (Free, Universal) isn’t quite a trip to Japan, but it’s the closest thing on iOS, and may intrigue you enough to visit yourself.
