Apple Sends Invites For September 7th Event: “See You On The 7th”

After months of rumors and speculation, Apple has made things official this morning. Apple sent out invites to members of the media to confirm the September 7th event for the launch of the next iPhone. The event will be held at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco, California, and begin at 10am Pacific. The invite comes with the tagline, “See You On The 7th”.

The September 7th event is expected to see the launch of the next generation iPhone, the iPhone 7 & 7 Plus. The iPhone 7 is rumored to largely resemble the iPhone 6/6S with slightly changed antenna bands. The device is expected to launch with the new A10 processor as well as an improved camera system. The headphone jack will be removed, and there will be a pressure sensitive home button allowing the iPhone 7 to be water resistant. The iPhone 7 display is also likely to gain enhancements including the True Tone display from the iPad Pro as well as displaying enhanced HDR color ranges like new TVs. The iPhone 7 Plus is likely to gain two features specific for the 5.5″ device with 3GB RAM as well as a dual-lens camera.

The Apple Watch 2 is also expected at the September 7th event. The new Apple Watch will maintain the form factor of the original with an emphasis on improved battery life, processor, and waterproofing. The 2nd edition is likely to feature a built in GPS chip, but not cellular connectivity. The event is also expected to feature the final details and release dates of iOS 10, macOS Sierra, watchOS 3, and new tvOS.

Apple will be streaming the event live on their website, and we will be covering all of the announcements as they happen.
