Paper Monsters ($2.99 -> Free, Universal) [Review]: It’s one of the best platformers in the App Store because it gets every element right. It takes the best gameplay mechanics from classic 2D platformers, and brings them to iOS. Then there are great 3D graphics with a cardboard/paper feel with so much personality packed into every detail. There are also 16 intricate levels across four unique worlds, and silky smooth controls. It is simply a classic for iOS with the traditional elements mixed with huge boss battles.
Rayman Classic ($4.99 -> Free, Universal): The game delivers the classic side scrolling platformer in its full form complete with the classic styling. The game features 19 relatively lengthy levels across six main worlds with the main path as well as hidden electoons to discover. There are numerous types of enemies that you will take on with Rayman’s telescopic punch, helicopter hair, and more. Rayman Classic is essentially the same game from the past, just available on iOS with a virtual touch control scheme.
Toca Hair Salon 2 ($1.99 -> Free, Universal): Toca makes some great apps for kids, and the hair salon version makes hair styling fun with great interactive touch controls. The sequel introduces new characters, new styling tools, more deluxe animations, extra accessories, and more realism when it comes to hair. There’s so much potential in the characters that can be created and shared in the Toca Hair Salon.
Gears ($2.99 -> Free, Universal) [Review]: A ball rolling adventure with 27 levels across three different worlds where you tilt or swipe to roll the ball across the various assortment of gears. The game has a beautiful 3D design, and plenty of content including replayability thanks to the time constraints, and all of the cogs to collect per level.
