Each level of Adventures of Poco Eco is about discovering the path forward to activate switches to unlock new paths. You simply tap where you want Eco to move while always looking ahead in the 3D environment. The gameplay isn’t the most complex, and there are a lot of portions of the game that make it feel as though you’re just going through the motions. It’s an adventure game that lacks any true puzzle elements, and the path forward rolls out without much thought at all. The first couple of levels feel almost like tutorials, and while you expect the difficulty to ramp up, that just doesn’t come to pass.

What keeps Adventures of Poco Eco from becoming too monotonous is the audio visual design. The game looks absolutely gorgeous in motion with such an immersive 3D design with expansive layouts to get lost in. The gameplay might not be the most challenging, but it’s still enjoyable to move through the level layouts with staircases, elevators, and shifting platforms to pass through. A lot of games say that they’re best played with headphones, but Adventures of Poco Eco definitely means it. The electronic soundtrack is one to get lost in, which is especially the case when coupled with the superb design. The game becomes more of a Zen experience than anything else as you sit back and listen to the soundtrack, witness the shifting world, and methodically make your way forward. There are no time constraints, chance of death, or anything to rush you, and instead you can just interact with all that’s included.

Adventures of Poco Eco ($2.99, Universal) provides a relaxing adventure that is worth picking up to be immersed in the complete experience.
