The Paper Kingdom is in trouble from the Lord of Darkness, and it’s up to two springs to save the world in the new iOS game Fold The World. Your job is to fold the Paper Kingdom with a paper craft style to unveil the path for the springs to hop along. It’s a puzzle challenge that is all about folding the paper at the right time, and in the right order to create the pathway. Fold The World provides a great looking 3D art style that is reminiscent of classic pop-up books, but formed into a puzzle game.

Each of the 60 included levels offers multiple folding pieces that can move in multiple directions to open up new pathways. The game starts out on the simple side, but becomes surprisingly complex once you reach double digit level numbers. The levels will have you folding a part of the level left, then up, and then overlapping that part with a whole other piece to open up a pathway. There are sequences that require you to fold the paper on top of the spring to then flip that spring up on to a whole other area. There are also swinging bookmarks, holes in the paper, and even glow in the dark pathways to uncover as you move through all of the included levels. The first 20 levels are available for free, and the next two sets of 20 are available for $0.99 each.

Fold The World delivers a nice and engaging puzzle style that is also relatively unique for the iOs platform. The folding style is nice and complex to keep you actively challenged as you see every way a puzzle can unfold. It’s great to see a puzzle come together with every flip of the page, and it’s quite rewarding when you reach the solution. There are collectable puzzle pieces in each level as well to keep you on the right path. The game also includes a hint system that doesn’t just give you the solution, and instead just puts you on the right path to solve. There are times when it’s a bit unclear which ways the specific parts of paper can unfold, so it can be a bit tough to unfold the solution in your mind.

Fold The World (Free, Universal) is a finely crafted puzzle game with a fresh challenge that is well worth picking up.
