Jumping Finn Turbo – Launching Into Adventure Time

2.5 Overall Score
Gameplay: 2.5/5
Design: 3/5
Duration: 2/5

Smooth launching game with easy upgrades | Plenty of bonuses in the air

Extremely repetitive gameplay | Adds nothing new to the genre | Just a basic experience

Adventure Time is on Cartoon Network, and it’s a cartoon show about Finn and his dog Jake going on crazy adventures in a magic filled world. Jumping Finn Turbo is a new launching game based on Adventure Time as you use Jack to kick Finn in the buns to launch him skyward in an attempt to reach the Ice King. The game is instantly familiar to Burrito Bison, as it’s an endless launching game where you earn coins for each flight, and then upgrade your abilities to fly further next time.

In Jumping Finn Turbo you launch Finn with Jake, and then you can use Jake for timed boosts and bounces to propel Jake further. There are six different special characters to interact with during your flight to give you a boost for further distance. There’s Marceline, Lady Rainicorn, and Blastronaut that can all accelerate you further, and the entire game is about distance. There are also penguins that are henchman of the Ice King, that can freeze Finn to slow him down, unless you tap them away.

The entire game is familiar to all the rest, and the main distinguishing factor is the Adventure Time theme, and that appeal is relative. After launching a few times you’ve seen all the game has to offer, and the endless nature means that each launch is relatively the same. The entire game is doubly repetitive due to the gameplay mechanic combined with the familiar nature to other games. The game can get a bit addicting (always a negative) to better your score, but for the most part there’s a low replay factor.

Jumping Finn Turbo ($1.99, Universal) is worth skipping as it’s just too basic, and run of the mill to be recommended.
