The physics puzzle genre has to be the most popular in the App Store with so many various titles, and a number of hits too. Saving Yello is the newest entry into the genre, and this one has you slingshotting a goldfish around the house, and back into its bowl. Along the way, Yello is ready to seek vengeance by destroying all the toys in its path with various power-ups. The power-ups include, fire, ice, explosives, spikes, winging hooks, and more which all help you score big in your journey from start to fish bowl. Saving Yello is from the makers of another destructive physics puzzle, Happy Hills.
The game isn’t necessarily ground breaking, but that doesn’t mean it’s not enjoyable each time you pull back, and launch Yello. There are forty levels in there different environments, and the usual three star scoring system. The highlight is the mass destruction that you can cause by burning up wood blocks, and freezing metal blocks with big multiplier potential for each object you destroy. There are also bonuses available for destroying groups of three full figured toys, and there is plenty of action on each and every shot.
Saving Yello ($0.99, Universal) is another in a long line of high quality physics puzzle games for iOS. Yello doesn’t break the mold, but it provides everything you could want with enjoyable action puzzle gameplay, superb visuals, and silky smooth controls. Every single shot can lead to so much, and it makes the game that much more engaging throughout. Saving Yello is worth picking up that provides plenty of fish flinging fun.
