Get ready to dungeon crawl through quick and challenging endless quests in the new iOS game Tiny Rogue. The game comes from the makers of League of Evil, Devious Dungeon, Random Heroes, and other well made adventures. Tiny Rogue offers a turn based rogue-like experience with every dungeon descent an endless challenge. You’re given a new quest each time you play, and there’s a random assortment of dungeon maps to face to go along with each new quest.

Each dungeon map in Tiny Rogue is presented in its entirety on the screen allowing you to see all spaces, enemies, and pick-ups at once. You swipe in any direction to move your knight one spot at a time, and then watch as the enemies react. There are werewolves, ghosts, ogres, dragons, and more with each having their own attack, movement, and defense style. The game is designed with quick action in mind as you begin with only three hearts, and most enemies have around the same. You can quickly level up and unlock new abilities to get you right in the thick of things without much time at all. The game is reminiscent of MicRogue in that regard, and Tiny Rogue seems to be more action based with a clearer structure.

The main drawback of Tiny Rogue is the endless structure that leaves you back at stage one each time you’re defeated. With that said, the game still does a good job of keeping you coming back with the randomly generated maps and quests. Each run through the dungeons feels fresh, and you always feel that you can do better with new plans against specific enemies, different uses of power-ups, and better level up ability selections. Every dungeon has the challenge come together quickly, and you need to make the right moves right from the get go to get through multiple enemies. There’s also a fluid supply of power-ups that are counterbalanced with numerous enemies to keep the challenge consistent throughout.

Tiny Rogue ($2.99, Universal) combines fun and challenge into a well put together dungeon crawler that is a must have experience for fans of the genre with a nice degree of wide appeal as well.
