Hectic gameplay | Simple & smooth touch controls | Packed with of personality

Precision of saving & smiting is a bit tough | A little shallow

PikPok and Adult Swim Games have created quite a collaboration that has resulted in fast paced swipe based action games that are packed with personality. First it was Monsters Ate My Condo, then Extinction Squad, and now Velocirapture. The new game focuses on the end of the dinosaurs, and you’re helping the hand of of God save the worthy and smite the faithless. The hand of God is in the top center of the screen, and you need to flick the green dinosaurs up to it, and drag lighting down from it on to the red dinosaurs.

The game is effortless to pick up and play, just like the other two games, but it gets plenty hectic and complex. The green and red dinosaurs crowd together, and you need to precisely flick up and swipe down on the appropriate ones. As you advance, there are new dinosaur types introduced that catch green dinosaurs mid flick, or simply toss or scare away green dinos before you can get to them. There are waves of just red dinosaurs allowing you to chain together lighting smites, but if you’re not quick, the red dinos will leap into the hand of God. You have a glory meter that decreases when a red dino is saved or a green dino is smite, and you play until that glory meter runs out.

The action gets nice and hectic relatively quickly, and you’re pitted in another great PikPok and Adult Swim game. There are so many subtleties introduced as you go, and the simple controls get out of the way to let you focus on the screen filling action. There’s so much going on at once, and that game is perfectly made for on the go touch gaming. There is an endless and story mode with four different environments for each, and the story mode offers up 10 levels per environment. There’s so many reasons to keep playing, and it’s such an engaging action experience. The theme is hilarious, and it’s great to see the various animations for the reactions from the different dinosaurs.

Velocirapture ($0.99, Universal) is another must have action game from PikPok and Adult Swim Games. There’s a completely different theme, control scheme, and objective, and yet they seem to nail each one again with great personality, simple controls, and hectic action. Velocirapture is a must buy that is action gaming heaven.
