Wreck This App is one of the most unique apps I’ve come across, and is based upon the book Wreck This Journal. On every page, you’re given a different prompt that calls upon your destructive side. The app is extremely creative as you scribble madly, deface a photo, write over text, tap holes through the screen, and just make a mess. The app is bursting with creativity, and each prompt will speak to people in different ways so the possibilities are practically endless.

There are 54 different prompts included, and you have 11 writing tools at your disposal. Every page is unique, and each one offers a great little time waster. There’s no limit to what you can do, and you can share any of your creative destruction. It does take awhile to get used to what to expect from the app, but once it sinks in there’s a lot to appreciate. The author, Keri Smith, is a creative genius by just giving you a blank page, and letting your own creativity fill it.

The tools are very responsive, and follow your finger precisely. You even have the ability to add photos either by taking a new one or getting one from your camera roll. The only problem is that it’s tedious to switch between the tools, and the colors. You’ll put up with it to go through every page, and it will take quite awhile. You can always go back for a second run through of the pages, and probably come up with completely different creations.

Wreck This App ($4.99, Universal) is one that stands out in a crowded App Store, and has the ability to appeal to any iOS device owner. No two pages are the same, and no two people will look at this app in the same way. It may be tough for some people to get used to the ideas in the app, but if you give it time, the app will grow on you. It’s all about what you expect going in, and you just need to keep your mind open, and really think about each and every prompt.

Wreck This App is worth picking up for $5, which you’ll definitely enjoy if you understand that it’s all about participating with the app.
