CES 2016: Withings Unveils E-Ink Activity Tracker And Connected Thermometer

Withings has become a staple at CES in recent years when it comes to connected health accessories for iOS. At CES 2016, the company had two new products to unveil beginning with the Withgings Go. It’s a clip-on activity tracker with an e-ink display that is always on. The Go monitors steps taken, distance traveled, calories burned, and sleep quality with the ability to automatically track activities like biking, running, and swimming. Speaking of swimming, the Go is water resistant to be used in water, and it can be worn all day with advanced sleep tracking to distinguish between light and deep sleep.
The display is always on to show at a glance info on your daily progress towards your activity goal. There’s also a time mode to show a watch face, and the Go doesn’t need a charge as it runs on a standard watch battery that should last about eight months. Withings offers a Health Mate app that all of their connected health accessories sync with, and Go is just another one adding to the same database. Withings Go is set to launch in the first quarter of 2016 for $69.95, and will come in five colors with the ability to wear it on your wrist, clip to your belt, carried on a keychain, or placed in your pocket.

Withings also announced the Withings Thermo, which is a WiFi connected temporal artery thermometer. The thermometer uses 16 intrfaed sensors to measure a person’t temperature in a non-invasive manner. The system scans the temporal artery on the side of the head, and can capture 4,000 measurements in two seconds. You can also place the device on the forehead as an alternative to the quick scan option. There’s an LED display on the device to show the temperature, as well as a color scale to show how the temperature relates to well being. Each temperature reading is synced to the Health Mate app, like the Withings Go. The Withings Thermo is also set to launch in the first quarter of 2016, and will be priced at $99.95.
