Hello Again Event: New MacBook Pro Starts At $1799 Ships In 2-3 Weeks

The new MacBook Pro offers more than just the all new Touch Bar. The retina display has been improved to be 67% brighter, a 67% higher contrast ratio, and 25% more colors. On the inside, the 15″ edition includes Core i7 quad core chip with 2133MHz memory as well as Radeon Pro graphics with Polaris architecture for up to 4GB VRAM. The SSD has slo been improved with write speeds up to 3.1GB/s for up to 50% faster, and storage options up to 2TB. The 13″ includes options for i5 or i7 dual core chips with up to 2133MHz memory. There is Intel Iris graphics with 64MB eDRAM for up to 2X faster performance. The SSD offers up to 3.1GB/s write speeds.

Both models include twice the dynamic range of the speakers as well as advanced thermal architecture with improved fan design. The port layout includes four Thunderbolt 3 ports that support USB-C, and any one can be used for charging. Both models are also rated for up to 10 hours of battery life. This MaBook Pro marks the 25 year anniversary of the first portable Mac, which launched October 25th 1991.

The 13″ MacBook Pro starts at $1799, and the 15″ starts at $2399. Apple is also introducing a low end model without Touch Bar, and it starts at $1499. The entry level can be ordered today, and the two versions with TouchBar are shipping in 2-3 weeks.
