More In The Making Event: Meet The All New Powerful Mac Mini

The MacBook Air wasn’t the only Mac to get attention at today’s “There’s More In The Making” Event. The Mac Mini is brand new with all kinds of under the hood enhancements. First off, the new Mac Mini starts with an 8th-generation Intel 3.6GHz quad-core i3 processor. There’s an option to upgrade to six cores as well. The base version starts at 8GB RAM with an option to upgrade all the way up to 64GB. Storage is all flash, and ranges from 128GB to 2TB. All told, Apple claims the new Mac Mini is five times faster than the previous generation.

The new Mac Mini features a Space Grey design with the familiar form as the last generation, and the Apple TV. There are a number of ports as well including Ethernet, HDMI, Thunderbolt 3, two USB-A, and an audio jack. The Mac Mini is also designed to be quiet with a new thermal system to cool the device. The base line new Mac Mini comes with a quad core i# process, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage.

The new Mac Mini starts at $799 with orders starting today, and shipments beginning on November 7th.
