WWDC 2017: Apple Introduces HomePod Speaker

After many rumors, Apple has introduced their own home speaker, called HomePod. The HomePod is a 7″ speaker with an all in one package that comes in white or space gray mesh covering. On the inside, there’s a seven speaker tweeter array on the bottom with a 4″ upward-facing woofer. The HomePod is powered by the A8 chip for real-time acoustic modeling, audio beam-forming, and multi-channel echo cancellation. The speaker automatically can detect the dimensions of the room to fill it with sound accordingly.

The HomePod has built in Apple Music connectivity to stream music by itself. You can use Siri for various music queries, but that’s not all. You can also ask Siri about News, Sports, Stocks, Traffic, Home Kit, Podcasts, Reminders, Messages, Translation, Timers, or General Knowledge. The HomePod will retail for $349, and is shipping this December.
