WWDC 2017: Apple Introduces The New 10.5″ iPad Pro

As expected, Apple has introduced the all new 10.5″ iPad Pro. The new screen size is 20% larger than the 9.7″ screen, and yet the device is still just one pound. The 10.5″ screen size allows for a full size on-screen keyboard as well as a full size hardware keyboard. The display now includes 600 nit brightness, HDR video, and “wide color gamut”. There’s also support for up to 120Hz refresh rate, with a dynamic refresh rate based on the content. On the inside, there’s the A10X chip with a six core CPU and 12 core GPU which allows for a 30% faster CPU performance and 40% faster graphics. The new iPad Pro includes the same camera system as the iPhone 7 for both the rear and front facing cameras. There’s also the same 10 hour battery life. The A10X chip is also now on the 12.9″ as well.

The iPad Pro starts at 64GB of memory for the baseline. The 10.5″ starts at $649, and the 12.9″ remains at $799. There are $100 increase for storage bumps as usual, but Apple has amped up the max storage to 512GB.
