Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas Coming To iOS Next Month

Rockstar continues to value iFruit devices with the release of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City last December, and Grand Theft Auto III in December 2011. For December 2013, Rockstar is preparing to release Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas in the App Store, which came out back in 2004. It’s not exactly GTA V on iOS, but the San Andreas version is our first glimpse at the fictionalized Los Angeles, Los Santos, that stars in GTA V, and San Andreas also includes San Fierro and Las Venturas, based on San Francisco and Las Vegas. San Andreas was the king of the PS2 era with over 27.5 million copies sold, and now it comes to iOS in a remastered form.

The iOS version is set to include enhanced graphics “including dynamic and detailed shadows, greater draw distance, an enriched color palette, plus enhanced character and car models”. There’s also a new touch control scheme with contextual options that display buttons only when you need them. There are three different touch control options, with a new checkpoint system made for mobile gaming. The game will also launch with full Made for iOS controller support with iOS 7. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas will appear sometime before the iTunes connect shut down on December 21st, so stay tuned.
