Last December, Rockstar Games launched Grand Theft Auto 3 for iOS as a special 10 year anniversary edition. This December, they’re set to launch Grand Theft Auto: Vice City for iOS as its own 10 year anniversary. In fact, Vice City is coming this Thursday, December 6th for $4.99, and Rockstar has provided some screenshots of the iOS version. The game will be using unique retina resolution assets, and there are “updated character models and lighting effects as well as new and more precise firing and targeting options”.
If GTA: III for iOS was any indication, Vice City will have its fair share of virtual controls, but they will still allow the game to be playable on the touch screen. Vice City came after GTA III, and before San Andreas, and was the second 3D version of the open world action adventure series. The game is set in 1986 Vice City, which is based on Miami, and follows the story of Mafia hitman Tommy Vercetti. The screenshots look good, and it’s a new decade old port for iOS that so many are familiar with.
