Modern Combat 3 is one of the best games available for iOS, delivering that true consoles quality feel, and it was our second best game of 2011. Now for 2012, Gameloft is back at it with Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour. As good as Modern Combat 3 looked and played, the fourth installment looks even better. Gameloft has been pretty quiet on the details, but now we have an official release date, and it’s this Thursday December 6th.
The fourth installment of Gameloft’s realistic first person shooter is set 200 years after the conclusion of Modern Combat 3: Fallen Nation. There will be a deluxe single player campaign as you would expect, but Gameloft is also betting big on multiplayer. As they describe it, “the most complete multiplayer mode yet seen in a game made for smartphones and tablets”. At this point there will be eight unique multiplayer modes, eight different maps, and four player classes.
Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour could be the biggest iOS release of 2012, and again it’s set to launch this Thursday, December 6th, so enjoy the trailer in the mean time.
