Today’s iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch apps for free daily include a heart rate monitor, physics puzzler, business card collector, and photo effects app. A number of apps drop from paid to free on a daily basis, and we pick the top four everyday, as many of the others aren’t worth your time even for free. Everyday we try to pick apps that are worth spending money on, but are now free to download, and here they are.
Cardio Buddy ($1.99 -> Free, iPhone): The app measures your heart rate in one of two ways, either with the front-facing or rear-facing camera. The rear facing option has been seen in other apps, but the front facing option lets you easily test your friends heart rate. The app also tracks results over time, lets you compare your results to a database, and view your results on a chart or versus other animals.
Munch Time HD ($0.99 -> Free, Universal) [Review]: A physics puzzler that is reminiscent of Cut The Rope as your goal is to feed a cute little character, and collect three stars along the way. In this case, you control a chameleon, and you tap the screen to launch its tongue to travel about each level. There are various flowers in each level, and you send out the tongue to latch onto flowers to swing between them, and deal with various colors as only a chameleon can. This is the first time the Universal HD version has been free for all retina displays.
ABBYY CardHolder ($0.99 -> Free, iPhone): The app lets you capture images of business cards, and makes all of the information interactive. After snapping the card, the contact details are stored in the app, and then you can call, e-mail, or text right from the contact data from the card that the app recognizes automatically.
PhotoViva ($1.99 -> Free, Universal) [Review]: A photo effects app that turns your photos into paintings. Rather than a one button transformation, you get to draw every stroke to transform particular regions to varying degrees. There are multiple brush styles in an extremely powerful photo effects app.
